Alice Blue Gown V is a classically Varian-bred mare with outstanding confirmation, athletic ability, kind disposition, eye-catching beauty, and type. She has tremendous substance, elegant movement, and excellent structure with the unmistakable “Varian look.”

The influence of Maclintock V and his sire Desperado V are readily apparent in Alice Blue Gown, with her “Breyer model horse” appearance and athleticism. Maclintock V is four generations down in line from Bay Abi to Bay-El-Bey to Huckleberry Bey to Desperado V and four generations down from the Varian original foundation mare, *Bachantka to Baychatka to Moska to Marigold V, his dam. As a show horse, Maclintock V was a Regional Champion Western Pleasure horse with a number of wins at shows. Sheila Varian broke Maclintock V as a three-year-old, and he was a natural stopping and lead changing horse, following directly in the hoofprints of Desperado V.

According to the Varian Arabians website, Maclintock V’s sire Desperado V is one of the all-time leading sires of Performance and Halter winners in the country and his dam Marigold V is Varian Arabians’ finest Bay El Bey++ daughter. She produced 15 foals, of which 7 have become Champions in Halter, Western Pleasure, Working Cow, Hunter, and Reining. Marigold’s daughter Morningstarr V produced the mare Delphine, who in 2005 won the prestigious Daughters of the Desert Stake Race.

Alice Blue Gown’s dam Ames Perfection is by the Bask son Brass, sire of National Champions in multiple Performance divisions and a highly respected broodmare sire. Ames Perfection is out of the Afire Bey V daughter Afire Inmy Eyes, who is by Afire Bey V, one of the breed's all-time leading sires of Performance champions.

Alice Blue Gown is a full sister to Abilene Mac V +/, who is a multi-National Champion and multi-Regional champion in the Arabian Western Trail and Ranch Riding divisions.
